Mango soup


 In London I used to love drinking mango lassi in Indian restaurants. You could order it sweet, or savoury, salted.

A four and a half hour flight from Stansted airport, north of London, took me and my husband to Tenerife.

I first had mango soup in the parador Teide on Tenerife, one of the Spanish, Spanish-speaking Canary Islands.

The second time was at a restaurant Casa Osmunda, the name of the original owner of the house, on the island of La Palma.

We arrived after a two and a half hour ferry trip from Trnerife . , town hillside, Santa Cruz de la Palma, has the pory for ferIed and tbe airport.

What's this? That's what we wondered when we saw it arrive at the next table. In July 2024 We went to try out the new South Indian restaurant in Hatch End, near picturesque Pinner and historic Harrow on the Hill. Hatch End has so many restaurants that a local newspaper called Hatch End the restaurant capital of north west London. The name Veera means older brother in two Indian languages as well as being from the Sanskrit for brave. The owners have two other successful restaurants in Hayes and Ruislip. The new restaurant in Hatch End was designed by the family. While it's new, they will be overseeing the Hatch End branch. Bring Your Own Bottles To Suruchi Indian Restaurant - No corkage on Buffet Tuesdays!

Bring your own wine, no corkage, is available every day. Tuesdays you have the added bonus of their meal deal for just under twenty pounds sterling per person you can choose a starter, main course, side dish of vegetables, and rice or Indian bread. I chose a Peshwari naan, a flat bread with a filling.  Our Wines Three of us had brought a bottle of wine each, picked to match Indian food.
