Italian restaurant with home made pasta - Vasco & Piero's Pavilion Restaurant

Image
Vasco & Piero's Pavilion Italian Restaurant has been our family's favourite in Central London for a long time. It's always a delightful surprise because the menu changes twice daily. The restaurant is clean, white bright and fresh with white linen table cloths. We went there again in November 2024. You can sit at small square tables for two, oblong tables for four, large round tables, or bar stools, or in a private room behind glass walls at the back. My companions chose a glass of red chianti to match the colour and intensity of their red meat dishes. I opted for Prosecco, sparkling white as a starter and to go with my white meat main course, chicken. Good enough. My husband, who is a wine educator, approved of the label credentials, the region and grape variety, and the taste. The restaurant has Umbrian items.  A member of our family from overseas wanted soup, which was not on the menu. They immediately offered to make one specially for her, a 'simple' mixed...

Which Coffee And Cake In Caffe Concerto, London and Where Worldwide?

Image
The colours and shapes of the cakes and desserts look enticing in the window of Caffe Concerto in London, near Trafalgar Square. Macaroons. Slides of cake.  My husband and I have been there several times after wine tastings at the nearby Civil Service Club. On our way back to the underground railway station under Trafalgar Square. Caffe Concerto Photos by Angela Lansbury. Copyright. The branch we visited was near Trafalgar Square in London, England, UK. We had a good coffee, brown sugar in sachets already on the table. When we asked for cold milk it came up fast. The fact that the tables are numbered suggests thought and system in their service. We shared a cherry tart, which seemed one of the healthiest of all their tempting sugary pastries. Caffe Concerto has branches all over the world including the Middle East.  Tukdin restaurant. Photo by Angela Lansbury. Copyright. The Tukdin restaurant is easu tp fomd. a short walk along the main road from Paddington Mainline and underground stations which are adjoining.  We were given two menus. One for savoury starters and main courses. Another for sweet desserts and soft drinks. (No alcohol. Halal.) Drink - top marks for aroma and flavour I started with a rose aroma drink. Wonderful Aromatic. Tasty. Pink. Syrup - but not cloying. Chicken Dish - Top Marks For Coconut Rice My main course was coconut flvour rice with chicken. The coocnut flavour in the rice was more-ish.  The chicken was battered, not greasy but dry. I have never had chicken like that before. Normally, rice is just an accompaniment to the chicken. But here the rice was the star of the show. The rice was okay, a filling protein ballast, as an accompaniment to the tasty rice.  The adidition of a bioled egg, cut in half, and a few peanuts, and slices of cucumber, made this ...
